We’re really spoilt for choice in Bakewell: Here’s a few of our favourite places, the little gems on our doorstep. Here’s number one in our favourite places: Monsal Head.
To my mind, the finest view in the Peak Park is to be had from the viewpoint by the Monsal Head Hotel. A good walk along the Monsal trail, from Litton, through Cressbrook Dale, past the Mill built by Arkwright, and picking up the old railway line is breathtaking.
Through the restored tunnels and over the fantastic viaduct, a stiff climb is rewarded with this amazing view down the dale, and a well-earned pint at the Stables Bar.
