An update on events and activities
As you are no doubt aware, we are facing trying times, and in light of government advice on Covid-19, the staff and trustees of Bakewell Town & Community Trust have decided to cancel many of our upcoming events.
As of now, our box office is closed to the public. We are responding to phone calls and emails and we will respond as soon as possible.
Please bear with us as we deal with event cancellations, reschedules and refunds. We have cancelled or rescheduled all our events (including Film Friday) until the end of May. If you haven’t received a notification of a rescheduled date or an automatic refund, please get in touch. I am awaiting a rescheduled date for Simon Evans and we have new dates for ABBA Sensation (5 February 2021) and Michael Ball & Alfie Boe (12 September). The Craft Fair is likely to go ahead at this time (but is subject to change)- please support them if you can.
As you can imagine, this is severely affecting our income If you can possibly book tickets for future events, then we would be enormously grateful. I have created Pay-it-Forward tickets– one for our cinema events and one for everything else. They are not time limited and can be exchanged for any event of your choice. With your understanding and help the Trust and the Town Hall will be here when this passes.
So far, many of our community groups who have regular bookings have decided to cancel their sessions. If in doubt, please get in touch with them to check. So far we are aware of cancellations for Bridge Club, Falls Clinic, Gentle Yoga, Liz Bortoli’s yoga class, Tai Chi, Bakewell & District Community Choir, Community Bible Study and Bakewell Town Guild. The Town Hall has space available for community action as required. Any groups needing space, for example, the preparation and distribution of food or essentials for our vulnerable or isolating residents, please do call the office and we will do what we can to help.
Wishing you all well.
This too will pass.
- Council Chamber, seating 22
- Court Room Gallery seating 62
- Assembly Room Theatre seating 168
