We Are Hiring!
We said goodbye to Tony, our much-loved caretaker. Would you like to join our little team as our new caretaker/premises supervisor?
We’re looking for someone local for 15 hours per week, working flexibly, with some evening and weekend work. Come help us keep the Town Hall running smoothly, our rooms set up nicely for our hirers and our building safe and secure.

New Bonus For Members!
To say a big ‘thank you’ to our members, our trustees invite our members to enjoy a 50% discount on all our movies. Each member can benefit from half price admission to Film Friday screenings on prpoduction of a current membership card. Membership costs £10 and is renewed annually on 1 January.

Major rewiring scheme
The last few months have seen a major investment in the future of the Town Hall. Hidden away and unseen by our visitors, the electrical system has received a major upgrade. The works will secure the future of the building for the next 60 to 80 years.
New distribution boards, three new submains and new switch gear have taken been carefully designed and installed to the latest safety standards, future-proofing our facilities for many years to come.

New Hearing Loop Brings Clarity
Thanks to a successful grant application to Foundation Derbyshire, BTCT have been able to install new hearing loop facilities. Crystal-clear sound is now available for all events and activities in the Court Room Gallery. Our shows and films can be enjoyed by everyone with a new system in the Assembly Room Theatre. You can even visit the Box Office and select the T-setting.
There is a portable loop system available for the Council Chamber too. We are grateful to Foundation Derbyshire, The Derbyshire Freemasons, and Chris Fox for designing and fitting the system.

Community Room Hire
Do you know that we offer special hire rates for community groups? If you are needing somewhere to meet, we can help! We have three rooms, and can accommodate groups of all sizes. We also have kitchen facilities available for community hire so we’re an ideal venue for coffee mornings- especially on market day. If you need regularly, we offer a block booking discount of 10% when you book 10 sessions or more. Our community groups are the heartbeat of the Town Hall so you will be made very welcome. We also set rooms out to your requirements and have projector and screen hire too. Each room has public wi-fi and a hearing loop. In-House Catering
Do you know that we offer an in-house catering service? We can take care of all your catering needs- be it a party, wedding or wake. With a range of menus and prices, we can help put together a spread that is perfect for your occasion. We can cater for a variety of dietary requirements and work closely with you to deliver a quality menu. See our catering pages for an idea of what we can do for your event.
