Bakewell Town Hall offers all you need to make your big day. We believe that you should concentrate on enjoying yourself, so we can take care of everything you need. Whether you would like a beautiful wedding breakfast with all the trimmings, an intimate meal, or an informal buffet, we can accommodate receptions of up to 110 people. Our small team will be with you from your initial enquiry to the end of your big day. We offer a personal service, with clear pricing and no hidden charges.
We have three ceremony rooms to choose from, all dating from the 19th century, to add a historic backdrop for your special day. They range from our Council Chamber holding 20 guests, the Court Room Gallery seating up to 60 right through to our Assembly Room Theatre with everything you need to entertain up to 110 guests- 160 for dancing. The finishing touches…
We offer a simple, inclusive wedding package that covers all the basics. This includes all room hire charges, the use of the stage and catering kitchen, bar and bar staff, tables and chair hire, leaving you free to concentrate on your catering and room decoration. We offer the option of adding a chair dressing package to our basic service. The Town Hall has its own catering kitchen, recently fitted out to the highest standards. You are welcome to bring in your own caterers or we can point you in the direction of some fantastic local caterers to suit a range of budgets. We also provide a wine list of locally-produced, award-winning wines and beers. We can even supply our world-famous Bakewell Puddings!

How many guests can we accommodate?
Up to 110. Our round tables each seat 8 people. The room can accommodate 10 tables comfortably, along with a cake table, a present table, and two long tables for catering. If you plan to have dancing after your meal, we will clear away the central tables to accommodate your guests. We can set the room out with long banqueting tables, if you need to accommodate more than 80 guests, up to a limit of 110.

Our inclusive wedding reception package includes the following:
- Hire of the Assembly Room Theatre, and stage (to midnight). A small quiet room is also available for conversation or for small children.
- A cash bar with one or two bar tenders depending on the size of party;
- Tables, table cloths and chairs, and up to 3 high chairs;
- Room set-up
- Catering kitchen with fridge, freezer, warming oven and gas hob, bain marie, filter coffee machine, and crockery and cutlery.
Dressing a room to impress…
We can provide a chair dressing service to make sure that your celebration is beautiful. We lay out tables and chairs to suit your event, and dress them elegantly with covers and sashes. Tables are supplied with crisp, white cloths- you just supply the table centres of your choice.
Chair Dressing Fee: from £2.50 per chair for chair covers and sashes.
Whether you’re joining us for a special celebration, or holding a business event, we offer a range of drinks and refreshment packages to suit all tastes. Our speciality is locally-sourced food and drink, and we are spoiled for choice in Derbyshire with scores of award-winning breweries and three (3!) vineyards. We also can provide a bar for your guests to purchase beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks and tea and coffee for no additional charge. With a selection of local ales, wines and popular spirits, we can make your event go with a bang.
