Fans of old gravestones- like me- will love a wander around All Saints. A Saxon foundation dedicated to All Saints, the church as monuments of all periods- from alabaster tombs to lovely ninth century grave stones. The mortuary chapel for our two most famous local families contain the church’s most spectacular monuments to the Vernon and Manners families.
The Kids will love the stone coffins propped up by the porch.A wonderful Saxon village cross, thought to be moved from a nearby farm with its energetic spirals is a further reminder of the town’s ancient roots.
There’s a fantastic view of the church from the bridge and the church spire towers over the skyline.
